Have you noticed how many actors and some actresses in “old” Hollywood died young? A lot of them in their later years looked older than they actually were. Could that be attributed to heavy drinking and smoking?

Booze and cigarettes certainly age most people, and contribute to a shorter life. You do have others though that just keep going. How Ozzy and Keith Richards have outlived numerous other entertainers must be a genetic anomaly. Either that or they sold thier souls to Beezlebub or are vampires.

And yet, Andy Dick remains alive.

But.. Look at someone like George Burns. Pretty heavy drinker.. Cigar smoker, which is generally better than cigarettes, but still.. Lived to 100

Some folks are just lucky, it seems. I knew a person who smoked cigarettes and drank booze every day and lived well into their 90s. It happens, but who knows why?

Wisest to just not do this. Why play roulette with your health if you don’t have to?

Agreed. People also didn’t eat as healthy back then, either. A daily diet of bacon and eggs for breakfast and steaks/chops for dinner was the norm back them. Between this, as well as the smoking and drinking and drug use, it’s no wonder folks died younger back then.

And if you go back further, you have a notably increased risk for various diseases and less accomplished surgery that also shortened life spans.

Or, why not enjoy life the way you want to?
