Peter has died, aged 77, after a long illness.

The Monkees made some good records, and amused the young of the time in their television show. RIP.

That's really sad. I always liked him! I saw the Monkees during their reunion tour in the early 90's (minus Michael, during the MTV revival heyday). Really fun band.

I loved watching the show in the 60's. Peter was kind of the shy one. There is one song called "For Pete's sake" that I've always liked. I play acoustic guitar and I play several Monkees songs to this day.

RIP Peter!

Thank you so much for posting this video. I really like this song, had not seen the video. It brought back great memories and teary eyes at what was, and now 2 of the 4 have left us. RIP, Peter, you were loved a lot by your fans. THEY WERE ALL SO CUUUUUUUTE! "Be still my heart", at my age I may join Peter and Davy just from the forgotten emotions/crush I had on them.

He never looked overly healthy the past 20 years or so.. I always thought it was a little too much of the drugs back in the day..

But, The Monkees often don't get the credit they deserve. They made some excellent music, even if it was alot of studio musicians on the first few albums.

*RIP*

Always thought the guy didn't get half credit he deserved as part of the Monkees. Unlike some other members of that group, Mr. Tork was the genuine article; a real musician.
