I loved her as Mona on who's the boss with Judith Light and Tony Danza . she has passed at 89 . Such talent gone . We are losing all of our talent on television folks .
I got the celebrity death text on her today and I was thinking it was going to be for Luke Perry.
She was just 89? I haven't seen her in years, but the last time I did, I thought she was in her 90's then.
Certainly one of those folks who looked older than she actually was.
Yes, she looked older than she was....
In “Soap”, she was only in her late 40s but looked well in her 50s.
In “Who’s the Boss?”, she was in her 50s but looked in her 60s.
In fact her husband on “Soap”, actor Robert Mandan, also looked older than he was,
born in 1932, he was younger than her, but looked even older. Mandan died last year at 86.
As for Luke Perry...both imdb and Wiki have his birth date as october 11, 1966,
but he shaved a year, most other, not as prominent sites have him one year older, 1965.

Her IMDB bio states that, IRL, Tony Danza named one of his daughters after her.

Ms. Helmond was rather fair and always "thin" (except for a generous bust line), which IMHO may have made her seem "older" looking as she progressed into and past middle age.
Not the bust part, but the thin frame, hair, etc.. fragile features.
Doris Roberts was 90 when she passed, and I for one never would have guessed she was that old.
I remembered SOAP and Who's The Boss, but I'd forgotten about Everybody Loves Raymond.
The report I heard on the local news here in the Houston metro this evening stated that she died of complictions from Alzheimers.
IMDB shows her last credit was in 2018.
Debra's parents weren't on EBLR much, so can see how many would forget. Ms. Helmond's IMB page for EBLR has her at just 14 episodes out of the 210 total.
