Here's my thought on it. No man is perfect. Wayne had traits that were positive, and others that were negative.

Put it to a vote of Orange County residents.

The man was an actor. I don't know why we have to consider him a leader, or a hero.

He acted in movies.

Why do we assign him hero status?

And although his son says this was just one interview, it only takes one conversation where a person can showcase all their deeply held beliefs.

He was what he was. A bigoted actor, who wasn't really all that good an actor - he only played one role. A hard, cold, cowboy.
