Dude should have fought George Zimmerman when he had the chance. Now we'll never know.

Wow, crazy. I remember when he hit the scene in the late 90's, his music was always in the clubs, not a hip hop fan but actually enjoyed his style for some reason, I guess in the same way enjoyed Tupac's style despite not really liking the genre overall.

I don't know a whole lot about him.. But he seemed to be kinda a tragic figure so far as the drugs.

There are.. Different types of people who are drug addicts in my eyes.

There are the ones who are just totally unapologetic about it and generally aren't doing the hard stuff.. Think Ricky Williams or Snoop. These folks don't bother me at all. I don't feel sorry for them, nor would they want people to feel sorry for them.. They're doing what they want and they're not hurting anyone.

There's the people who are doing the hard stuff and just screw everything up in their life and those around them. Let's put Mama June in this category... Probably your local junkie as well. Farrah Fawcett's kid. You never know if they're going to break into your house and steal your TV to fund their habit. I got no sympathy for them at all.

Then you have the crowd that I'm kinda sympathetic to.. Dexter Manley from the sports world.. Josh Gordon I think is a good example. Maybe Bam Margera, though he might be in the group above.. And I think DMX kinda fits here, from what I understand. They're not trying to hurt anyone, though they sometimes do.. But the hard drugs just have their talons in them. They wind up in rehab many, many times trying to get clean. They really try. And they wind up relapsing. Some of them (Like Dexter) eventually overcome. Some wind up dead. Those are.. Generally the only two outcomes. Prison doesn't really happen. It's an off-and-on thing where they wind up there some, but it's never the endgame.

I'm not sure how true it is, but DMX was the 2nd Rapper to ever have two number 1 albums in a year.

Apparently, Tupac was the 1st.

It's Dark and He'll is Hot, and Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood both came out in 1998. I don't remember Pac accomplishing that feat.

RIP to DMX, even though he wasn't my favorite (PAC resonated more with me even though I liked some of X's work), the guy was a titan in the game. His family had to make the tough decision. He'll always be remembered.
