Paul Newman is the last of the truly great actors, a legend. I will be very saddened when he goes. But in the meantime, wish him the best of health and hope is nothing serious.

Another FoxNews article about Paul Newman, seriously ill with terminal lung cancer. He is giving 120M of his Newmans Own proceeds to charities. A great man and a great actor.

Poor JoAnne Woodward-his wife of so many years! Hope he is ready. Lung cancer is nasty stuff!!!!!!!!!!! I've known several people who have died from it. I really hate to hear that news. They are dropping like flies lately.

Very sad indeed. I hope the media lets him go quietly and with dignity.

someone like Paul Newman should be allowed the privacy and dignity to announce such news if and when he elects to. Unfair for such leaks to be spread about without his acknowledging it to be the truth.

Paul Newman, responding to unconfirmed reports that he is ill with lung cancer, has issued a statement that he is "doing nicely."

Mr. Newman is one of the very best living role models. If he is sick, may he face his illness in the manner he chooses. This man deserves his dignity.

I also admire Paul Newman and saw this on the news last night. How sad.
Also thought of how difficult this will be for his wife as they've been together for so long.

He's done so much for so many. Something like 13 million gets donated to charity yearly, from his food products, and mentioned another eight million they've donated privately.

Can't remember how many, but also have 'adopted children' of other countries that they contribute to as well.

Yes, dignity certainly comes to mind when thinking of him. What a guy!
