Actor Peter Scolari, who co-starred with Tom Hanks in “Bosom Buddies”, died of cancer at age 66. Although Hanks’s post-BB fame overshadowed Scolari’s, Peter nonetheless had a prolific career.

I liked Peter. He was not only great in Bosom Buddies, but Newhart.

Example: The Newhart episode where his life was in a tail-spin: Stephanie had broken up with him. He becomes a mime. A pathetic mime. He goes by some restaurant where Stephanie is having lunch with her new boyfriend. His 'mime' of looking into the window, etc., was priceless.

Indeed, if not for Tom Hanks, Peter would have been the breakout star of Bosom Buddies. Yet, Hanks was so great and personable, that Peter become second fiddle. Yet, what a great second fiddle he was.

Sad that he died so young (he and I are the same age). RIP to him, and thanks for the great memories.

He was rather young. He always looked healthy and fit. Evidently he had been ill for 2 years. I always enjoyed him in Bosum Buddies and Newhart.

Although Peter is best known for his roles on light-hearted sitcoms, he also had a role on Lena Dunham’s controversial “Girls”, for which he won an Emmy in 2016.

I remember him from Newhart. He was hilarious. I will always remember that mine routine! I also remember when he thought it was cool that Dick was on live TV 24/7 without sleep and he was losing it. Watching a man lose his mind on live TV! Great stuff!

I am just astounded at the number of things he has been in. I knew about Newhart, but that was about it. if it wasn't for Newhart I'd have made the "Whatever happened to" on him.

But, he was in a TON of things.. Things that i've seen and didn't even recognize him.
