Great movie. I recommend it.

As far as him dying is concerned.. I hope he pulls through. It's never good to hear about people dying or near death.

I just saw something on tv where they said only 1 in every 25 people with pancreatic cancer lives 5 years or more.

Ditto

Swayze always seemed to be a genuine guy. I hope he is able to beat the odds

Very sad to hear this, as I genuinely like this actor and many of his movies. Especially Dirty Dancing. Also liked him in Road House, and enjoyed seeing his martial arts moves. Hoping the best for him and a quick recovery.

His best was Donnie Darko.

I might agree that that is the best movie he is in.
Most of his big-time roles are some of the cheesiest films of the 80s and 90s.
Still, a lot of that cheese is important to me - I was just thinking about this last night...
For me The Outsiders and Red Dawn are very important. I was a little kid when I saw those and so they were both very profound to me at the time. Swayze was nothing short of a hero.
Later came Dirty Dancin', Ghost, Roadhouse, and Point Break. All cultural milestones.
Why does it take a tragedy like this for me to stop and give an artist the respect they deserve? Two days ago I would laughed you out of the room if you told me that Swayze is "important".

He is one of those actors that you've never heard any "dirt" about. They just do their job. Don't hear them screaming anything about their politics. A class act.

I've just checked out his official fan club website (I'm not a regular, I swear ) and the same promising sounding news as southdown posted is on there too. Hopefully things will be okay.
