Some online news sites are reporting that Tim Russert suffered cardiac arrest at NBC's Washington news bureau and has died.... here's to hoping it's a greatly exaggerated rumor...

EDIT: NBC News has now confirmed. RIP

It has just been announced that Tim Russert, of NBC News, passed away this afternoon of a heart attack while at the NBC Studios. Mr. Russert was born in 1950. Mr. Russert was managing editor of the popular program "Meet The Press".

There is a thread I just now found on the 'Celebrities' forum.

Sorry for his son and wife who were still in Italy when it happened. Also stinks that a father has to bury his son.

Unhappy Unbelievable

I'm still trying to get it to sink in. I found out while doing my banking about an hour ago. I just could not believe it. The TV was on at the bank and CNN broke the news, and there was footage of Tom Brokaw at NBC making the announcement. Tim Russert will be missed deeply at NBC News, and his commentary on politics will definitely be missed come November when we have election coverage. A huge loss for the news industry, no question.
