Andie McDowell-overrated
I was on the Newark to Asheville (on my way home from NYC) flight on Sunday and she was on the plane- despite the fact it was 100 degree heat, she was dressed to the nines in designer garb, Hermes scarf and just crying to be noticed - the flight is only 2 hours and she kept getting up on the small plane and walking around- No one recognzed her, or asked for an autograph...
IMO American celebs(some) are overrated and it goes to their heads- I for one am sick of hearing about their multi-million dollar salaries for mediocre movies. JMO...

She tries to live a very normal life (away from Hollywood) in Asheville, NC - and that is the one thing I do like about her.

I've met four very different people, in four very different places, who all had an experience with Marlo Thomas. They were not good experiences, to say the least. My hs librarian said she was on a plane ride with her, and the woman did nothing but yell and complain. The other passengers were taking a poll- did they want to flush her down the toilet, she had said. I thought that was funny....
Don't know enough about Andie M to form an opinion about her. I'm ambivalent to most celebs, as they seem to be people I'd never associate with if they were my neighbors. Too weird and self absorbed. Artistic people are strange. Rich, famous artistic people- eh, you can have them.
Let's be positive, here. At least you didn't throw her off the plane!!!!!

Is she overrated because she has designer clothes or what?

She doesn't bother me. Never really hear about her.
Maybe she was walking around to keep her blood flowing. I do that. I hate being stuck in plane seats and I am always terrified that I will die of thrombosis!! (I'm a little paranoid that way)

I like her. I admit that I haven't watched hardly any of her movies, but htis is not because I don't take her seriously as an actress. Just haven't had the time. But in Sex, Lies, and Videotape, I found her beauty very striking. She's a beautiful woman, lets be serious, and judging from her bio, she's not your typical Hollywood type. Came from humble beginnings and prevailed. Kudos to her for making the most of what she has to offer. We should all be so fortunate.

Yeah, in Biltmore Forest. Can't get any more normal than that!
On the North Carolina forum there were a few comments about her. Seems she thought that her status meant she shouldn't be discommoded by something as pesky as the effects of a hurricane. The remnants of one blew through there a few years ago, causing floods and power outages. She was seen reaming out a lowly seafood clerk at the local grocery store because a power outage caused the fish to go bad, depriving her of lobster, sushi ... whatever.
Myself, I think it's cool that "Night Court" star, magician, and former New Orleans resident Harry Anderson now resides in Asheville - though it's a shame that he suffered the circumstances that lead to his relocation. From what I've read about his interactions with other residents, he is well-liked

She always does look very smug and I have always thought she was very over-rated as an actress too. There is a certain arrogance which emanates from her.
Of course I don't know her personally so these are only impressions but I would have to say she does not put out a particular positive vibe.

Agreed, the only movie I remember her being in is Groundhog Day.
