They sat thru the evidence presented them ON THIS CASE. If they'd have based their verdict on his past history, than it would've been blatantly obvious and it wouldn't have stuck. You can't get away with that, no matter how badly some people would've wanted. There are 12 people who sat thru all the testimony and came to a conclusion that indeed he told people to go there... he told them to bring guns... he held people against their will and the list goes on. There's no "revenge" involved in their verdict. It's clearly based on evidence presented to them.
Perhaps the message sent was... Vegas isn't the town you wanna commit armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon or kidnapping in.
And who knew there was a celebrity forum?

You could be right. I'm far from an expert on the case. My understanding was that he was trying to take back something of his. My only point was to say that if there is anybody in this country who would have trouble getting a fair trial, anybody for whom it would be difficult to assemble an impartial jury, don't you agree that it is O.J. Simpson?
I believe he committed that double murder, I think he had a night from a hell. Excusable? Justifiable? Even understandable? No, no, and it is a real stretch. But Simpson went form being one of the greatest running backs in the history of the game and one of the most famous, to arguably the most INFAMOUS athlete and in fact citizens in this country.
As far as this jury's lack of bias, do you believe that his first jury was not biased, and by the way I said it all along, not racially biased, but dazzled by his fame. How many celebrities have walked away from alleged heinous crimes in L.A. now? I've lost count, but Michael Jackson and Robert Blake spring to mind.

If he appeals and gets this conviction overturned, will there be a "Search For The Real Robbers" golf tour?

I agree. Hubby & I were talking about this yesterday, I doubt he could get a fair trial anywhere in the world. I also don't doubt that he's going to appeal and also get off the hook for this one due to not being able to get a fair trial.
I don't doubt that he killed Nicole & Ron but he isn't being tried for that. He's been tried, they screwed the whole thing up and he was let off of the hook due to sloppy work.
Either way, I do think karma will eventually get him. Maybe his punishment is to live with this over his head for a long time.
I feel bad for his kids and hope that they will be able to live their lives as normally as possible. They are the most innocent victims of this whole ordeal.

Saying their verdict is a "revenge verdict" is the same thing as calling them stupid and ignorant. To think they could get away with a revenge verdict would make them fools. As if they hadn't sat thru the evidence given to them, they just decided to find him guilty based on their past feelings of him.
If it had been a verdict based on revenge... his atty. could pick it apart and he'd be a free man. There's also no judge who'd support/ condone a verdict based on revenge. But when the jury can back up their conclusions with evidence from this case that was presented to them... then it's not revenge. It's a man thinking he's above the law who, in the end, didn't get away with robbery, assault, kidnapping, etc. because 12 people put 2 +2 together and said, "Yep... he did all that".
It's all of us, that weren't in that court room, that think we should throw in double homicide to top it off! Well, at least I do!
And I'm with you Roselvr... I hope his kids can have a normal life.

I don't think it's a "direct" revenge verdict either. I think that it's hard for people to not think about Nicole & Ron & how OJ got away...
In the end, O.J. Simpson rolls snake eyes in Vegas
Towards the bottom of the article it says:
Quote:
|
Kidnapping is punishable by five years to life in prison. Armed robbery carries a sentence of at least two years behind bars and could bring as much as 30.
|
Then there are articles popping up about the jurors..
Some on Simpson jury disagreed with 1995 acquittal
I'll have to see if I can find the one I read this morning. After reading that, I don't doubt he'll get away with this on appeal.

In reality isn`t it impossible to get a jury of your "piers"??
Let`s be ridiculous and take it to it`s extreme...
12 black actors who made their name in sport??..Name them...
Let`s take it further and check all their bank statements,,,,just to make sure of the detail and narrow it down further....
How many people do anyone of us know [forget friends] who they would be happy with to stand in judgement of them???

Karma or just what goes around comes around, but he's already paid and is paying the first few installments. He's gone from superstar to pariah, and unless he's got no conscience his worst critic stares back at him from his bathroom mirror. Now if Ron or Nicole were loved ones of mine would that be enough? Not no, but hell no.

I hear ya, but fame in L.A. is like royalty in England. People are starstruck out here. Half of them came out here to be stars and didn't make it, and actually believe that those that did make it walk on water.
