Making the transition from cute kid to adult star can be difficult.

Even for those who steer clear of the perils of drugs and alcohol -- so often the Achilles heel of child stars gone wrong -- early fame is no guarantee of long-term success.

I don't know about Keshia - I'll always see her as Rudy but I wasn't that impressed with her in Beauty Shop. Her voice and demeanor were just too soft and didn't accompany the "bad and sassy girl" she was supposed to be playing. And I saw her in a Christmas movie that was just horrible. I guess I'll have to see how she does in Tyler Perry's new movie - so far his casting choices (for movies) have all been excellent

The deal is, some kids grow up to look like movie star material and some just don't. Look at Ron Howard, he was the cutest kid on tv, but he didn't grow into such a hottie. Therefore, he took his skills into another direction and has kept a great career. I guess it's hard to tell a person that they just don't have the same cuteness they once did....so some of these people keep believing they still have it.

Keishia was a beautiful child, but not such an attractive teen. Now she has blossomed and looks wonderful. I think she has a real good chance of regaining her star status.

True. Her comeback in that film wasn't great.
She didn't portray her character role 100%. But it was interesting to see her acting again.

Maybe she'll take better roles....
