Maybe he's moonlighting as the President of his local chapter of the Natalie Portman fan club?
FWIW - Lots of celebs go unnoticed on a daily basis going about their daily business - on purpose.
Oh, I see. Thanks sweetie, I'll mention this to the Board of Education, sounds like a great new curriculum. Maybe we can drop Art or Music, or better yet gym and replace it with pop culture.
It would be just as stupid to say oh my god who is Jay-Z? Look I don't care about Jay-Z's music, you will NEVER catch me listening to that, or any rap for that matter besides maybe Eminem, but if someone told me they didn't know who Jay-Z was I would assume they either live in a cave or they are maybe like 75 or so, in which case it's acceptable to be clueless by the time you hit old age. I hope not to be, but I know most people are.
I'm very happy in my cave, thank you very much, and I've no desire or need for any rapper to pollute it with his disgusting vulgar noise.
No what is downright RIDICULOUS is to say you have no idea who Natalie Portman is!!! That just means you a total moron. If you don't know who Larry King is, you're a moron too, it has nothing to do with ONE aspect of society, it has everything to do with being a culturally educated individual. And Jeff is right, Natalie couldn't walk anywhere without being stampeded. What's funny is some people here are making me look like this amazing pop culture savant or obsessed fanboy -- while it's flattering, MOST Americans know more people than I do. I've known people who read Us Weekly or whatever constantly, and they could name at least twice as many celebrities as I could, people even I haven't heard of who appear on MTV or the Disney Channel (up-and-comers; I hadn't heard of Miley Cyrus until maybe a year and a half ago, other people had heard of her much earlier). There's another one -- if you don't know who Miley Cyrus is by this point, you live under a rock and don't read the news, or pop culture. Not only has she been involved in a big controversial story about photos, she's been in the news for sold out concerts, etc. It doesn't take much to glance at a news stand every once in a while or read the news. I only read CNN.com, occasionally look at USA Today, and sometimes flip through another magazine or two and still I know these people.
I guess if you have NO natural curiosity about the world and prefer to just slip through oblivious, great, but it makes you a person who others laugh at. I wouldn't hang out with anyone who didn't know what was going on in the world.
And Star Wars is NOT just Western popular culture, if you think that you're seriously unbelievably clueless. Star Wars is part of film history, popular culture, merchandising and financial history, and indeed American history in general. Not only that but everyone in Japan would know who Natalie Portman is -- Star Wars is HUGE in Japan, as it is in most of the world, but especially the Western World + Japan. It's more than a $13 billion franchise and if there's just ONE thing you knew about entertainment in the past 30 years, that should be it.

LOL, I would not be suprised if even Osama Bin Laden knows who Miley Cyrus is despite living in some cave in Pakistan. I mean seriously that girl gets more media coverage than most political world leaders combined. Miley Mania can almost be comparable to Beatle Mania in the 1960s.
That's a good point, I have no idea who is the president of most European nations, except for France because that guy is such a total socialist retard, so Miley Cyrus does actually get more press, haha.
ImportersWife -- Yes, actually! I've made quite a name for myself by knowing my stuff when it comes to that subject. What do you know anything about? How old are you and how many books have you published? Zero? Yeah, that's what I thought. So why don't you bug off if you have nothing to contribute.

Ok, you are well versed on pop culture. I am versed on family cultures and I have a Master's Degree in Family and Child studies. It is vitally important that I am aware of some of the pop culture so that I can relate to some of my youth experiences, but I will admit that I am not aware of everything culturally pop related. I also am not the "All Knowing" of every actor and actress out here in our world, but challenge me on many family cultures in our United States and throughout the world and you will melt like butter. Does pop culture make you culturally sensitive to others who are not like you? That is the key question I need for you to respond to? What do you know about other people who are not like you? Do you understand their way of living? Do you understand why they do what they do? I could go on and on, but I will stop here while I am ahead .
Not on the poll, but I think Hilary Duff looks adorable as a brunette
