Thumbs up this is why David Letterman is The Best late night Host

David Letterman doesn't only play it for laughs - MSN TV News

I can't imagine any of the other host pulling this off. Not bright enough to do so; but Letterman is.

He's always had excellent taste in musical guests, as well.
Last Friday he had one of my favorite young indie bands,
Beirut.

Agree on Letterman, he has something we don't see that often in anyone, let alone TV personalities: Integrity.

I think this shows that Blagovich doesn't have very good lawyers. So much of all US late night talk shows is pre-contracted on what you can talk about and what you cant. All the biggest stars with the most clout never talk about anything but their kids (I can barely remember the names and details of all the kids of the people I work with but I know all about Harry I've heard so much about him) and their movie clip. Show after show. Zzzzz Maybe if Dave had some other kind of integrity he wouldn't allow that to happen.

And because he has groups that you like means he has musical taste... I guess anyone who doesn't like your kind of music doesn't have musical taste then?

Not at all--just not as good as mine.
We all have a right to our opinions, right Giesela?

David Letterman was always a big fan of Warren Zevon--right to the very end.
I was always a big fan of Warren Zevon.
Letterman appreciates old school, but whoever books his guests keeps an eye on up-and-comers.

I don't even watch much TV.
I rely on Youtube quite a bit.

One of the many things I like about Letterman is the special relationships he has with certain guests. Clearly there was something going on with Terri Garr And the few, treasured visits he has from diet guru Richard Simmons are so special

Love Letterman - big fan for years. Kind of miss the old wackiness of his original shows though.

And Blago is a pathetic sociopath, who needs to get away from the media exposure and start planning his legal defense.

I always liked Letterman the best too. His jokes are catered to people over the age of twelve. Unlike Leno, who's jokes are catered to five year olds. I would put Conan second. I used to like that dude with the European voice for third. But lately his voice annoys the sh*t out of me, so if he don't mind, it's time to go back to Europe. Vacations over.

Dave is absolutely the best. I agree on Warren Zevon and Terri Garr. I was just discussing this with a friend the other day, how Dave really seems to have something with some of his guests; Renee Zellweger, Drew Barrymore (happy birthday, Dave!), former Governor Christine Todd Whitman.

I also love that he isn't afraid to take on blowhards such as O'Reilly and Limbaugh. I doubt that either of them will ever appear on Late Night again.

Letterman was funny back in the 80's.
