I grew up in the 80's so he's definitely one I will always remember, especially in Cannonball Run and Smokey and the Bandit II.

I loved Dom. I remember when I was very, very young seeing him in a skit where he was going to a gunfight... "(somebody's) in the bunk house getting his gun, there's gonna be a showdown, gonna be a gunfight, someone's gonna die, before the day is done". And the last scene he kisses his teddybear goodnight. I have tried to find any reference or film clip of this on the internet with no luck.

He was a very funny, very kind man. There's a (large) hole in the world now.
