This is so sad. I feel like the 80's died this week.

May he rest in peace.

I'll tell you why.

America is a very vindictive country. We see one mistake and we automatically blacklist that person, as if the past never happened. Well guess what - it DID happen. Not only was he a legend in music, he was instrumental in improving international relationships and was central to so-called "crossing over" - as was other notable deaths such as Sam Cooke, Barry White, Ray Charles, Luther Vandross, Eddie Kendricks, David Ruffin, Paul Williams, Marvin Gaye, Roger Troutman...all of which...ALL of them...made horrible mistakes in their life. Why should they be praised and Jackson shunned? It's unfair.

Note that London was chomping at the bit to have him perform one last time. They don't care about his mistakes, they care about what he was - the best entertainer in the known world, bar none. If it weren't for him, none of what we enjoy as far as music videos, songs, and concerns would not exist.

That's why.

Me, too...I was wondering myself who David and Jeff are.

Regardless of how people may feel about Michael Jackson's personal life, it is the end of an era and most will remember where they were when they found out that he had passed away.

My thoughts are with his family and may he finally have some peace.
