LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - "Golden Girls" star Betty White will receive a lifetime achievement award from the largest U.S. actors union, the group said on Tuesday.
The Screen Actors Guild will honor White, 87, for her career and humanitarian achievements, with a presentation on January 23, 2010, at the televised SAG Awards.
Wow! She's 87? Man, that lady sure has held up well. I saw her last season "My Name is Earl" and she was hilarious. I believe she got an Emmy nomination for that role.
I've always loved Betty White, but my favorite role of hers is Sue Ann Nivens on "The Mary Tyler Moore" show. Her body of work is impressive, and that sh's continued to work as much as she has is amazing.
Congratulations to Ms. White on this well-deserved honor.
What a wonderful actress from the 'old school' - by that I mean she can act and is a consummate professional. She is greatly deserving and a hilarious comedian. Congratulations to you Rose ~
That is great, Betty White seems so genuine and kind. I love her dry sense of humor and admire the devotion she has always kept for her late husband Allen Ludden.
Love Betty! Much deserved. She is from the era when actors had to have real talent. She is a dancer as well, probably sings too!
