I have a friend who waited 40 years to tell her family and friends her brother sexually abused her as a child. Her own mother told her to shut up, it was 40 years ago, get over it.
If you have never been a victim of sexual abuse, you may not understand why someone keeps silent about it for so many years.
They are the ones that might commit suicide instead, or become abusers themselves.
Not saying I believe her or disbelieve her; or even what her real motivation is, be it monetary or otherwise.
Maybe this is the only way she's been told to deal with it...maybe it is all about the money,
I know a lady who had hypnosis to try & forget. Didn't work.
A child raised the way she was does not have the capacity for rational thinking. I dont think this adult woman has evolved very much since then.
Maybe therapy encouraged this confession, maybe she is desperate for money. Its hard to judge someone like this. Thank God I have not walked in her shoes. Her life is an end result of childhood abuse. Hard for me to be without some compassion.

1-The physical part of her first sexual experiance with her father WAS NOT her fault. She was passed out and woke up to find her father on top of her and in the act. She didnt ask to be raped by her own father. The opportunity for her father to have sex with her WAS her fault because she chose to get so damned high that she passed out. Thus losing control of what happened to her.
2-One can almost surely surmise that, given the fact that she was out of work and money, she chose to continue this behavior in order to insure a steady source of drugs. After all, she wasnt just fu**ing her father. She was also fu**ing her drug supplier. Who happened to be her father also.
3- Maybe lost on a few of you was the fact that she told Oprah that when she was about 11 or 12 she moved into her dads mansion in BelAir and when she asked her dad what the house rules were he said "what rules?" Given this environment of no structure or guidelines, can anyone be surprised by any of this?

After watching Oprah and reading Michele Phillip's response and seeing Macenzie over the years something happened to her. Whether her father did something to her who knows. She obviously wants and or needs to make some money so she writes and book and goes on Oprah. That should sell a couple of copies. But I would believe her more if she wasn't hooked on drugs for over 35 years. Don't drugs make people delussional? How does she know fact from fiction or illusion in this case?
Most offenders have done so more than once and with other people as well. So why just her? People do a lot of sick things, but it would be interesting to know the sentiments of her other family members (brothers & sisters).

She was 17, so she was borderline a child. In my opinion, a child cannot have consensual sex with their parent. The parent has a position of power and trust over the child. You have no idea as to what the lead up to this was, there were probably other forms of abuse leading up to this. You don't just decide to have sex with your parent one day.
How sick is that..........why put it out there for the world to know?
Because she is screwed up in the head. She became a celebrity at an early age. She got hooked on hard drugs early and probably has no real friends. These people do not think like the average person. To her, this is probably the equivalent to confessing this to a couple friends over a glass of wine.
