OMG...I watched the Larry King show with Jon and his lawyer. Here are my impressions:
Jon kept saying over and over again that "I made mistakes and now I'm going to grow up and be a man". It was as though that was his answer when he had no answer!
Jon's attorney kept looking down to read his notes. He appeared to be an absolute idiot in most of what he said.
Jon kept saying that Hailey and the attorney's family were behind him 100%. Do you think the attorney's family really cares???
Finally, Kate's attorney came on and set the record straight. Apparantly, Jon and Kate agreed to arbitration and now Jon wants to "wait". Kate's attorney said that motion was denied and Jon and his attorney acted surprised. Great. Another person to take money from Jon and he gets nothing in return but bad advice. Rather like the $22,000 he spent on therapy!
Jon said he and Kate were paid $22,500 per episode and that they only made $1 mllion last year and only got to keep $500,000 after taxes. What about Kate's books and speaking engagements?
Lastly, has it occured to Jon that if he stops the show, TLC will not be paying his family anything and he will have to get a job? DUH.

It is all very strange.
Several times the TLC position seemed to include statements about 'Jon's erratic behavior', which might mean something in a divorce settlement or breach of contract. It sounds like both sides are grandstanding.
As far as the $$ goes--someone, perhaps Jon's attorney, said that TLC made $186,000,000 and 'J & K +8' was the top show---so maybe Jon wants to sue TLC for a huge amount of $? That's about all I can think of.
His attorney implied that Jon and Kate didn't have legal representation when they agreed to do the show.
Panel members on CNN tonight were also confused by this new turn of events and the consensus seemed to be that he should 'cease and desist' --shut up.
Kate will address Jon's remarks on Larry King on the Today Show tomorrow, Monday, Oct 5.
The above link announces that J & K have reached an informal custody agreement. I assumed that such an agreement was reached months ago but it doesn't seem to be working very well.
Ultimately I believe both Jon and Kate will fade off into obscurity.
Jon might as well pack his bags and head to the West coast and have the kids visit several times a year. I suspect that Kate will have modest success with her talk show career and who knows what she will do after that.
I haven't noticed any new 'family' shows added to the TLC lineup, perhaps they are tired of the mess, too.
I think he's making a good run now. He just emptied a bank account. No wonder Kate cannot believe a thing he says. How do you trust a soon to be ex when he says he wants to work things out and then does something contradictory. At least when he texts Kate she has some kind of documentation than what flies out of his mouth.
At least Kate is getting some public support. There is a lot of divorcing parents facing the same thing in silence and shame.
Its best for all concerned hes out of the picture, with the exception of visitation,
there sharing the home has shown not to be working out either.
Let her and the kids move on and recover.

I AGREE!
i have been calling this man? a sleaze from the beginning---there are WAY too many men out there doing this to the ex and the kids AND WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE(LIKE SOME ON THESE FORUMS) SUPPORTING THEIR BEHAVIORS!
