It is easy to make a judgment call when you are young and all your stuff is still in it's original spot.
If I won the lottery, I would be in Brazil tomorrow....getting everything I have nipped, tucked and sucked up.

How your skin ages is largely determined by genes. How much time you spent "sun worshipping" when you were younger also has a part. Ms. Streep has fair skin - so perhaps she stayed out of the sun or wore sunscreen. That and good genes.....Who knows and frankly, who cares. She appears to be comfortable with who she is including her age. I am more disturbed by people who seem to want to appear to 'never' age....that's just creepy.

To me Meryl looks like a 57-year-old who takes good care of herself. That photograph above is not very crisp but I can still see a lot of lines.

Some women develop sagging jawlines later.

Meryl Streep does not look like someone who has had plastic surgery a all, just someone who looks after herself . There are still plenty of very natural looking lines there. She looks her age to me. And most of my friends in their 50s have similar looks and none have had plastic surgery either. In fact my favourite neighbour who is in her 80s has a very taut neck and very little in the way of wrinkles and she certainly haven't had any surgery either.

I am against plastic surgery for vanity too . Whatever rocks people's boat but to me to willingly go under the knife when you don't have to is simply self-obsession gone too far. As someone who had to spend a lot of time with far too many doctors prodding me and testing me for years ( leukaemia) because of a life threatening illness makes this sort of thing almost offensive to me.

I think plastic surgery is for people with true disfigurements or in cases of breast cancer for example where self esteem has been so battered on so many level that losing what is a very precious symbol of womanhood is threatened.

If a few lines and a little double chin however threaten women then I cannot help but feel there is a deeper problem which would be better adressed with counselling.

I am sorry if this offends some people but my lines, my scars etc... are all part of me, they are a "map" of my history on this earth as a human being , and I for one have no desire to try and erase them .

We live in a physical perfection obsessed world and I would prefer if people were slightly more concerned with their inner self . To be honest every time I see someone who has had plastic surgery all I see is a plastic doll with little appeal. I actually like lines, wrinkles , scars etc... It shows me someone who has had the courage to accept the natural ageing process and embrace who they truly are rather than who they aspire to be. It shows the character in someone's face.

Having had to undergo many surgical procedures I would rather wave that "privilege" simply so my skin can look a little smoother and brighter. Face creams and facial exercises seem immensely preferable to me but what do I know....

I still don't see a problem here.
Is the world going under if Meryl Streep doesn't admit it if she has done surgery or not?
It's not like it affects her acting or anything, which is all I care about.

I don't believe Streep has had any work done. I think what you see is all done by lighting. If you saw her in Mama Mia, you'd know she looks her age. You could tell they were using maximum lighting and tricky lenses to get rid of some her wrinkles. She looked bad in that movie. Bad look, bad movie.

You could how she has aged in Doubt.

The problem is not that Meryl hasn't admitted to having work done, but that she has criticized male stars who consider going under the knife.

I can't believe no one on this thread thinks she's had a facelift. There's not a lot written about it online but I have found one other thread where pretty much all the posters agree that she did have a facelift:
Has Meryl Streep had a Facelift? Caption Pic:

In no way does she resemble the average 60 year old. I posted earlier in the thread that even Madonna, who is the queen of self maintenance, has had a facelift. Madonna has more wrinkles in her 40 something picture below (2005) than Meryl has in the above picture at nearly 60. COME ON! I think it is really obvious she has had plastic surgery!!!

There is nothing wrong with wanting to look younger. That is not the point of this thread. Meryl Streep went under the knife as an unspoken part of her job description. She continually tells the media, however, that she is getting "interesting" roles at her age on her acting merit, which is great but not entirely true. She should shut her mouth.

Yup, she looks like a 60 year old to me. I do not mean that in any negative way, I think she is beautiful and natural and aging gracefully.

If you compare the above photo, Meryl's face is much smoother and tighter. OK, maybe Meryl has not had any plastic surgery.
She has had nonsurgical microcurrent facials with facialist to the stars, Tracie Martyn:

Madonna also had these facials and recently has had a face lift which she has admitted to. The difference between her and Meryl is she has not been vocal about it one way or the other and has certainly not said that male celebrities her age should "stop with the plastic surgery". Don't you think it would sound obnoxious if Madonna said that?

This is what good cosmetic surgery looks like-- natural and undetectable. Madonna is well known for her health oriented lifestyle-- this has been her big selling point from the beginning of her career, what a total health nut she is. Hello, even she could not age well without a little help!

Meryl probably had a face lift, can't admit it (which she doesn't have to, she just needs to keep her mouth shut!), and has also gone out of her way to criticize male actors who have had work. People that is crazy!!

Hey there, my name is Simon , This might not be the right place to ask however I've been thinking about getting a hair transplant, I'm losing a fair bit of hair but not bald yet however I'm just wondering what you guys think about laser for hair loss or if you have ever used it? I've been losing my hair for about a year now and been searching on youtube lately and watched a few videos. This video for e.g.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWuqsWfuzUI explains it however they are clearly advertising their product which would make it bias but does laser actually work? Can someone let me know of their experience? I've very doubtful.
