So do you folks actually think she assaulted him and he faked hitting a tree and fire hydrant?
I am not buying that!

My bet she was extremely upset about the revelations and she threatened him. He stormed out of the house and got into the vehicle, she followed with a golf club and threw it at the SUV, then the "accident" happened. Sounds more pausible to me.

"Translation: I f'd up and I am sorry...go away tabloids. Let me deal with this in private. Sorry Tiger - that is not how the game is played. Get ready for more!"

His statement was half serious and half to hopefully satisfy the public scrutiny he faces. I think it was scripted by his publicist with a large degree of legalese.

When you lie or tell partial truths you have to word things so carefully...when you tell the whole truth it sets you free!!

This statement (that is popular, I know) goes against my grain. I am sure NO ONE prepares for a wedding day with all the upbeat festivities and wishes from family and friends and colleagues, - while viewing it all with a dark skeptical mind. Tiger did court Elin against her initial rebuttal, while she has never been swayed by any celebrity status (otherwise she'd never quit modelling to start with, and would hog all the publicity afforded to her by the marriage to Woods). She must have fallen in love with him, - with a person, and agreed to marry the man, not "what comes with him".

Faked hitting a tree? Who said that? They have pictures. Sure looks like he hit the tree for reals. And I think a lot of people think he was tearing out of his driveway due to an argument with his wife about his infidelity. Whether or not that led to her hitting him.... who knows? He says no. But that's what abused spouses often say at first, so again.... who knows?
Your scenario does sound plausible ... but it sounds just as plausible to me if she hit him before he stormed out the house.
*shrugs*

Wow...what a mess. He needs to get a new PR team.

I wonder if his endorsement contracts contain "moral clauses...?"

Tiger disappointed me with his statement.

This part is brilliant:
Quote:
But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don't share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one's own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn't have to mean public confessions.
Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it's difficult.
But for me he ruined it by apologizing in the next breath. So much for the "important and deep principle" of privacy.

I think people need to get over it OR get a life OR get a hobby OR all three so you don't have time for this crap. It is nobody's business and I just bet that most, if not all, those that feel such a need to comment have tons of skeltons in their closet.
