I never saw that.
They started airing Letterman in Sweden in 1994,but I think he was more like old Dave in the beginning on CBS.
Johnny Carson was a little before my time, so I can't judge one way or another. I've always preferred Conan O'Brien, more so on Late Night than on the Tonight Show.
