Lived in the Poconos, PA for many years. Rod Steward has a place there, I stopped by a local store called Ben Franklin and saw the limo and wondered...walked in and there he was with a beautiful model type woman, a really lovely couple. He looked great, and I've heard is a great entergentic entertainer...

I didn't meet him...but as you know, years ago, Pocono Raceway was a real heavy hitter for indy cars. Paul Newman used to come. There was a man who stood out front of the race way directing cars with one of the homemade top hats he made out of deer hide with antlers. One day, he says a man walks up to him and says..."Do you have a hat for sale" the local who was Pennsylvania Dutch, says...."vell now, I don't have any left for sale"
The man asks, "well how bout that one on your head" The local answers, vell, now, I dunno? The man says, how bout you think about it and I'll be back. Later the man returns and buys the hat from the local and says to the local, do you know who I am....the local says while scrathing his head, vell, nohwww, I dunno? The man says Newman, I'm Newman, the local says "Newman Who?"

Went to the hair dressers and sitting beside me was Mackenzie Phillips, as she and her hubby had a home in the Poconos as well, we had a very nice conversation. She was really nice, and honestly I don't think she thought I knew who she was.

My son's friend worked in Las Vegas in one of the Casinos and after work he sat down at the bar and spoke with Tom Selleck...said he was the great guy he projected on screne....

I waited on Phil Collins and his group for an entire week for breakfast every morning...they were touring Allentown/Bethlehem/Easton area...and he offered me to come to the show back stage.

When I was a little girl, my uncle bred and trained horses, and we knew a man who bred dappled paliminos...who sold horses to Roy Rogers. My uncle was friends with Roy Roger and Dale Evens and the Sons Of The Pioneers. Even saw their horses close up (Trigger and Trigger Jr.) They used to party big time at King's Orchard's in PA...now long gone....we had lunch with them, when they came to do a show at the Allentown Fair, and I met their horse trainer, Glen Randall.

I've been secretly in love with Kevin Costner for years, until he married again...hehe, how dare he marry that young girl... Seriously, Hope they are very happy. His loss....

In all actuality, I've never been star struck by movie stars, they're simply people who wouldn't have a job if it were not for us shall we say, common folks, and I believe they deserve the right to their own privacy. I think it's unfair of all the gossip about them and rather childish and immature of American's to buy all that garbage. They're simply people who make mistakes, just like all of us...sheesh Rich, perhaps, but in my book, material wealth doesn't make a human being, yanno?

Great thread
thank you

Default Most famous you had a relationship with?

I did not have a "relationship" with him, but did go to elementary school (Glenwood Elementary) and was a neighbor of Kurt Russell. We lived in Thousand Oaks CA. and he was in a lot of Disney movies at that time. They had a small little enclosed baseball field of their own next to their home. He was a year older than myself. I dance a slow dance with him once at a school dance.

I don't get them either. Why not just say what one means?? Kind of like Ted Casablanca's Column for E!---and that is so irritating.

I saw Richard Dreyfuss on an airplane once. Other than that, I have never met anyone even remotely known.

My college roommate married Paul Shaffer. I've been to their homes and was at the party that they threw after they got married- lots of well known people were there.

The first time I went to NYC to visit (1980-something) , I couldn't get used to walking down the street and having someone call out "Paul!" I would stop because I thought it was someone that he knew.

She and I went to Fanfare in Nashville a while ago and I met Randy Travis, Alan Jackson and Reba.

Jimmy the Greek hit on me when I was flying to meet my husband to tell him (DH) that I was pregnant.

And I walked into a legislative committee meeting with Dan Marino. We both walked in at the same time and I didn't know who he was. Other staff came up to me later, thinking I had brought him to the meeting...one session I met Ray Charles.

Met Hillary, several Florida govs., including Jeb. Jesse Jackson, John Walsh.

Would LOVE to meet Eric Clapton.

A fellow CDer is related by marriage to Bob Dylan!

I lived in NYC for 8 years but before I officially moved there, I made quite a few visits with friends. Once, in the mid 80s, I went for a visit while in college and met up with some friends on Madison Avenue. One wanted to stop at the Valentino Boutique to say Hi to his friend that worked there. Before we walked in, a woman walked out in a rush with a camera around her neck and wearing huge sunglasses. I thought to myself that she looked like Jackie Onassis Kennedy and I made the comment to my friends but no one believed me. When we entered the boutique, I had to ask my friend's buddy that worked there and sure enough, he told me that it was her. He said that she would go into the store a lot and kill time. He also said that for the longest time, the employees there would find sack lunches in the garbage cans in the women's bathroom and no one understood where they came from...until the day they walked in on Jackie sitting on the sofa in the woman's bathroom eating a tuna sandwich that she had brought from home. He said she was so embarrassed but apologized and said that she frequently ate there because it was the only place where she could eat in private and not be bothered by anyone. How sad is that??

Also saw plenty of folks on the streets in NYC when I lived there...I almost walked into Brad Pitt on the streets there when he came out of his trailer to head back to a movie set. Saw David Letterman plenty of times on Broadway heading to the Ed Sullivan Theater for his late afternoon taping of his show.
Talked to Karl Malden on an airplane once..very nice and witty man who was traveling with his wife. Also had Dolly Parton on a flight once..she was very nice and even winked at me and mouthed hello when she saw that I noticed her and did a double take!
Saw many others but that's enough for now...
