I was at a Willy Nelson concert dancing around in front of the stage with a bunch of other people and a guy came up to me and handed me a card to read which said that Willy would like to have a drink with me during his break and to come backstage. I did go backstage and had a bourbon and coke with him and smoked a joint. I ended up spending the night with him (well, three hours) and I went my way and he went his. A one night stand but worth it.

One time my car broke down on a highway in California. I was just sitting there trying to get a signal on my cell phone and this limo pulled up and the driver got out and said they would give me a ride to where ever I need to go. I was a little uneasy but it was starting to get dark so I said sure and I ended up spending time in the back seat of the limo with Simon Cowell. He took me all the way to my house which was an hour away and had a wreaker bring my car to a garage.

I'm sorry but I just don't believe that story.

Nothing nearly as exciting for me; when I was in the USAF, I drove the truck-mounted aircraft stairs that Bill Clinton would later walk on (The Presidential Fleet folks won't let any of us ordinary Airmen get anywhere near the president...) I also rode on a Navy P-3 aircraft with Admiral Jim Stockdale, the Viet Nam war POW, Citadel Commandant and later Vice-Presidential candidate for Ross Perot. Unfortunately, the aircrew wanted us non-duty passengers to give him wide berth so I didn't get to talk to him...

I worked at a big holistic health clinic in Phoenix, and one of the people who would come there was Khigh Deigh who played Wo Fat on Hawaii Five-O. He was very interesting and intelligent -- he held a Ph.D. He also owned a Chinese restaurant there. I attended a seminar about the I Ching by him, and was one of 5 people selected to participate on stage with him to illustrate the I Ching's interpretation. Nice guy!

******************************
Also met Elizabeth Kubler-Ross at the clinic because she was a patient of one of the founding doctors there. She and I were both the same size -- she was tiny!! And sweet.

****************************

I also spent a weekend at the home of actress, Ellen Burstyn, when she had a house overlooking the Hudson River outside of New York City. I was participating in the World Symposium on Humanity, and she was the coordinator for the east coast portion.

She was really down-to-earth and very nice. We made a huge dinner for many other people, some of whom I don't even remember their names now, but they were "famous" in their own fields. She had mismatched silverware, and we all cooked in her kitchen. But she wouldn't let Muhammad Ali come over for dinner because "he talks too much."

She's also a Sufi and has a Sufi name. She rented out rooms to struggling actors. She looks more like the "hippy" in the movie "Same Time Next Year." A very kind, spiritual woman with a big heart!

*********************

My next youngest sister was a World Game champion and won a Bronze Medal in gymnastics in the 1977 World Games in Moscow, Russia. She was well-known at the time for gymnastics and was the first female to win a gymnastics meet in New York State.

**********************

I also had dinner with Stephen Halpern, the New Age music composer. I think he was a bit mortified when he began bragging about receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Buffalo, and making it sound better than it was….and then I chimed in and broke the news: "I'm from Buffalo!"

********************

And, yes, I'm the C-D person who is related to Bob Dylan through marriage. My father's sister (my aunt) married his mother's brother (his uncle). He's very down-to-earth and doesn't wear those fancy get-ups like you see on album covers. He wears Bermuda shorts and tee-shirts at family picnics! (You just can't trust the media….)

A John Cougar-Mellencamp story. I heard awhile back he and his family were camping somewhere in Indiana and he brought his acoustic, one evening was sitting on a rock singing and playing, just because sometimes people who camp do that. Some neartby campers heard his 'performance' and approaced him, told him he sounded so much like J C M. No duh, he WAS him!!
I wasnt there but heard about it and had to share the story, lol.

I was watching the Mets play the Tigers in spring training. As a Cubs fan, my best friend and I were huge fans of Moises Alou. I got by the fence and was within shouting distance of Alou. I called my friend and asked if he wanted me to snap a cell phone picture of him. Instead, my friend joking asked me to ask Moises if he remembered him at the Whole Foods on Lincoln that one time (he bumped into him on accident). So I screamed out "Moises, recuerda mi amigo Peter? A la tienda se llama Whole Foods? Recuerda, recuerda, recuerda? I yelled it really loud a few times and finally he turned around and screamed "QUE *******???" That's the closest relationship I ever had with a celebrity.

Thumbs up Talking & Autograph Considered a Relationship?

Well, I once had an 'encounter' with John "SPYDER" Salley, outside the BlockBuster store on Jefferson Ave. Detroit, MI when I was in the 'horror' section; he was a big star on the Pistons BBall team back then; in 1992.

We discussed selection of movies & I asked for his autograph, thats it.
