I will miss her. She was so beautiful and courageous and had a lot of class. I always remember her episode on Sanford and Son when Fred was so excited to have a date with "the Horn". She said to Fred, "this is little lame lamont"- hysterical.

I'm glad that Halley Berry mentioned her in her Academy Award speech. Lena Horne was a pioneer in her profession and helped to kick that door down more than anybody. We all owe her a great deal of gratitude.

Impressive career and life. I don't think I ever much cared for "Sanford and Son" but she was one of those women who did stay attractive and flirtatious into her later years. I remember an interview Ed Bradley did with her that was funny that way.

Of course I first knew of her for things quite different, like appearances on Sesame Street and doing the "Easy Being Green" song with Kermit.
