Wow, that sucks. I was watching Speed only a week ago and remember looking up Dennis Hopper on Wiki. Guess I didn't notice the whole section devoted to his cancer. So long and good night Mr. Hopper.
I never understood the oxygen mask in Blue Velvet, which I saw when I was in my teens. I've always had a romantic view of making love and remember leaving the theater quite disturbed that sex might be something much different than romantic.
When I heard that Dennis Hopper died at age 74 I thought ok, some old age thing or disease. But when I heard prostate cancer I thought, what man over 60 is not having a yearly PSA test. It's cheap, quick and one tube of blood. There's no reason for any man to die of prostate cancer these days.
I have a cousin who is more like an aunt, as she's something like 20 years older than me. Her husband recently got dianosed with prostate cancer and it had spread. He did yearly checkups and they missed it.
How do you explain that?
