Betty was actually the oldest. Weird how they all died and Betty is enjoying a resurgence of her acting career.

Kind of like Herman (Fred Gwynn) dying way before Grandpa (Al Lewis) in "The Munsters." Odd how that happens.

I've not heard of that movie, Lakewooder, but it's so crazy she is gone! She was still holding her own as of recently with movies and what not--up until this year, right? I didn't even know she had a stroke back in March.

Isn't it though!?! The Golden Girls is one of a few shows that will never go away....they picked the perfect cast, the perfect plot, and the perfect setting. This is a sad day; Betty White has to live forever or all our girls will be gone

So sad. I love the Golden Girls. I thought I heard that Estelle Getty was actually the youngest of the four. I remembered that because in the show, she was the oldest character. Does anyone know?

I also loved, loved Rue on " Mama's Family" as Fran.
Funny that Betty White was on that show too as Fran's (Rue's) neice.

Watched a rerun last night on TV. Was it pure coincidence (or a cruel joke) that it was titled "Heart Attack"?

Heart Attack November 23, 1985
After a fabulous dinner party featuring Sophia's Sicilian cuisine, she has severe chest pain and thinks she is having a heart attack. She's convinced that she's dying, and Dorothy must face her fear of becoming an orphan.

Dorothy Petrillo-Zbornak: I will never forgive that airline as long as I live!
Blanche Devereaux: I cannot believe they lost all our luggage! Now I'm gonna have to go an entire weekend without underwear!
Sophia Petrillo: Yeah. You usually slip into a pair by Sunday afternoon.

Blanche: Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go take a long, hot, steamy bath, with just enough water to barely cover my perky bosoms.
Sophia Petrillo: You're only gonna sit in an inch of water?
