I have had a blackberry for over a year, and really like it. However, I am also considering purchasing an ipad. The issue is that I don't want to pay for two data plans / month (one for the blackberry and one for the ipad).

Has anyone thought about switching from a smartphone to an ipad, and then using a simple cell phone for calls?

Just a thought.

I can opt for tethering with the blackberry, but I believe it's an additional $30/ month with my Verizon contract, which sort of defeats the purpose.

Maybe I will just hang onto the blackberry and if I go for the Ipad, use it in wifi spots.

Thanks for the input!
