Hello,

My husband currently has Metro PCS, $45 a month. However he NEVER uses the phone, doesnt need a phone for email or web. We are wasting $. We need something he can keep in his pocket for emergencies only, not for chit chatting. Be able to text or call. He makes MAYBE one call a week!Something CHEAP-O.

I have heard here and there of some really cheap options, one even was pay for what you use or something. Anyone up on these things? I dont know if "prepaid" would be the cheapest or maybe Virgin who I think has a $25 plan? Like I said he does not need data, does not do email or web. Thanks for any assistance!

I'd recommend T-Mobile's Pay-As-You-Go. The cheapest refill card is $10 (30 minutes talk). Text is 5¢ to receive and 10¢ to send. The minutes expire after 90 days but if you refill with another $10 your old minutes will accumulate and don't expire.
