Verizon Wireless “Network Extender” Enhances In-Home Call Capabilities
Generally network extenders are for people in poor coverage areas and not necessarily for better home coverage even though it can help.

Meh, I think this happened to AT&T back in 08, VZ should be fine, their network will be able to take the overflow soon enough.

When I was with AT&T a while back I constantly dropped calls inside my house. My Verizon phone has never dropped a single call inside the house ever, even in the bathroom or back in the workshop garage (solid brick and on lower ground). The people I know who have iPhones are always complaining about dropping calls, or calls that sound "garbled".

That being said, my Samsung Fascinate has a screen on it that even my iPhone friends envy, and it has a user-replaceable battery, memory card slot, good camera/video, and more. Ok, it's missing a web cam, but seriously, do we need people driving their cars or sitting in Starbucks staring at other people and vid-chatting (?) - that's what the web cam is on your laptop for... you can video chat from the hotel room. So I won't be in the lines to get the drug that so many call an iPhone.
