Sprint/Clear has 6 Million users on WiMAX, Verizon has 500k on LTE....LTE has less congested Pipes therefore its faster, but not for long, people in LA and NYC are already noticing a slowdown with LTE as more people hop aboard to that of the same speed of WiMax.

this is all going to be pretty subjective. All I am saying is *now* LTE is 2x-3x faster than Sprint. However if your okay with that, then go for sprint. I had a sprint data plan which was okay. I got ~2-~4mbps maybe, sometime it would drop below 2mb download/sec. Verizon was always > 6mbps and a lot of the times it was well above 12mbps. It *makes* a difference. I travel to Charlotte, Pittsburgh, and Boston and same experience.
The problem I have with sprint is that they collect a $10/mo premium on all smart devices that supposedly goes towards infrastructure, and the infrastructure isn't improving.

They've only been charging the smartphone $10 fee for a few months (a year if you consider the 4G fee). There hasn't been enough time to make any infrastructure upgrades. Given that Sprint has jumped on the LTE bandwagon seems like an upgrade to me.

Yes, since they started doing 4g which was with the evo last June 2010 and the "$10 fee" has expanded to any 3g and 4g smart phone activated (if you have an existing 3g you won't be charged).
I like sprint for my phone service, however the data plan isn't cutting it for my needs. For others maybe, but for me, no. I don't like being told your paying to improve something and that something ain't improving. So the $69.99 really is an $80/mo plan, not a $69.99 + an additional $10/mo (that cracks me up)

It depends on which plan you have. For example, my plan is not affected by the $10/mo smartphone fee. Although, it is still affected by the $10 4G fee :-( .
Also, Sprint includes more features in it's plans, like unlimited GPS navigation... which others such as Verizon charge for. Yes, you have google maps, but it's not the same.
And the best part of Sprint is that it has unlimited mobile to mobile voice... which no other provider has.

Well the point of all this is there is something for everyone. I *like* sprint for my phone (I actually just upgraded to the EVO 3D) but love verizon for raw data hotspot speed.
