OK so banning cell phones while driving shows no appreciable benefit to preventing accidents.
Although there are documented cases where a driver was texting right before getting into a horrific accident and killing someone.
These LAWS may not save everyone but if the save even one 16 yr old's life, I am all for them.
I mean really? So we all going to run out and start texting in our cars now?
All I can say is until you have been in a wreck or "on purpose" caused by someone who was texting and end up not only in the hospital but mssing your DNL's baby shower, paying for hotel, meals, gas and missing a week of work, etc. you dont know what you are talking about. To make matters worse, the twit was in the emergency room still texting and laughing about what she did. At least there was retribution.....her insurance company paid me real good. I still could slap her.
Stupid people will continue to talk and or text while driving no matter how many studies prove that many times it causes accidents.
You can't stop people from being stupid no matter how many times you try to get them to stop doing stupid stuff.
Cancer warnings have stopped some people from smoking including myself but the stupid still smoke.
Unfortunately nobody has come up with a cure for stupidity no how many laws they make.
I fully intend to continue safely using my phone while driving, regardless of what law might be passed. Frankly, phone users are just the latest target of Witch Hunting Safety Nazis who believe they know better than all of us how we should live.

To sum up, you can't fix stupid
