Hi,
Can anyone think of a reason why my basic T-Mobile cell phone will no longer text to my mother's Virgin Mobile phone in the UK ? We have been texting each other for years on the same numbers and then 3 weeks ago her phone stopped receiving my messages. It happened once before when she was visiting from the UK but it reset itself once she returned. This time it stopped receiving when she left the UK on a transatlantic cruise. She and the phone are back in the UK now but despite all our efforts her phone will not receive my texts whilst I can read hers to me. We have tried resetting the phones, re-entering the numbers, even replacing her SIM card but no success. Her phone is only a year old.

Hello?! Anyone remotely interested in helping here? I'd really like a useful answer if possible.

Have you tried to contact tech support of both providers?

Is it just your texts or can she recieve from others? If its only yours then you are being blocked. If its everybodies and the normal reset doesn't work on it, then a factory reset needs to be done to it (erases everything and brings it back to day one of use).

The s/w in their phone is corrupted. If it cannot be fully reset then it needs to be replaced. One of the chips inside is shorted out. We had a Motorola Droid that this happened too and it wouldn't take a full reset so it had to be replaced (or live w/o texting).

I think she ended up getting a whole new phone with a new number. After Dad had put his SIM card into her phone and it worked just fine with me texting successfully, they charged back to the Virgin Mobile store and did some desk-thumping. Now we are fully connected once more and it only took 6 weeks to convince the phone company.
