I'm sticking with Sprint, and decided to choose between these two phones:
Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC EVO 4G LTE
Samsung Galaxy S3 vs. HTC EVO 4G LTE on TechCrunch
Actually, after flip-flopping a little I ordered the S3 this evening, and I am having mild buyers remorse.
And I know that they are both great phones, so the choice isn't easy.
Which of those two would anyone choose, and why?

LOL.. My contract will be up in a week and I'm stuck in the same dilemma. Certain features that one has that the other doesn't is why I've been flip-flopping more than a polititian. However, These two phones are the best to phones on the market as of now. I've been thinking about getting the EVO. I have the 1st generation and loved it. The new one is faster, bigger, more Memory, more RAM, higher resolution screen, better camera, more features. The S3 has more RAM, more colorful screen, a removable battery and a bunch of other features that I dont feel like listin. I been driving myself crazy trying to figure this out.

The only this that the S3 does NOT do that I really wish it did is text rendering. With an HTC, I can zoom in on an article and the text would fit perfectly to the screen...That's become a major sticking point for me for some reason.

I was going over the same decision and went with the S3. I've had it about a month and am loving it so far.
A big plus was the removeable battery. I ordered some extra batteries on Ebay and usually carry at least one extra one with me when I'm out and about. Things pop up, who knows, maybe I'm not going to be home when I think I am and I'm not going to be near a charger anytime soon.
Also the S3 (mabe the Evo?) has a facial unlock feature that I really like. To unlock the phone, just look at it and it'll recognize you're face. This is helpful when driving or something like that.
I haven't played with the new Evo, but on the S3, from the time you press the power button to turn it on to the time you can be making a phone call or using an app is less than a minute.

I have the EVO. I switched from the iPhone 4S. I love it. It has every feature I need except the LTE. Hurry up Sprint.
But the screen is very clear. The rear camera is great for taking pictures. I agree with KOBEBLUE.
But it depends on what features are most important to you. I'm sure the Samsung has some features the HTC doesn't have and vice versa. Go to the store and play with both. I had to do it because everyone kept telling me that I don't want to trade my iPhone 4S for the EVO.
One day I was bored and decided to stop by the Sprint store and test out the EVO. Surprise, surprise!!! So much better than the iPhone, being that I'm a diehard Apple fan.

Mike, I think that is being a bit nitpicky as I dont think there is anything wrong with either.
What you are missing or gaining between the two is minor if anything. They are both power houses
