Good post Kees. I prefer Android, but I like all technology. The iPhone is a great device. As are the Windows phones. Different strokes for different folks.
Thanks!

Yeah I dropped my original S3 from 5 feet and shattered the screen... insurance replaced it and I got a case from Ballistic Case Co. : Designed To Survive Life... after that I dropped the phone 3 times over the course of a year from the same distance (shirt pocket) and there was no damage at all.

Needless to say I also have this case for my 5s. I haven't dropped it yet (it fits so much better in shirt pocket than the S3) but I'm protected if I do.

Which one did you buy?
Samsung Galaxy S III | Ballistic Case Co.

I have finally decided to get a case when I replace my now-cracked SIII.
(3rd one this year. )

I got the SG series for my S3.

The corner protection makes ALL the difference in the world when you drop the phone. That and the fact the screen WILL NOT touch any surface when laying flat.

Dropped it 3 times on concrete floors from 5 ft. after it fell out of my shirt pocket (the same drop that cracked the screen on the first phone) and there was not a scratch. The case is worth the money.

FYI, the SG Maxx series is the same thing plus a plastic screen protector and a belt holster. I did not have a need for that because I protect my screen with Ghost Armor http://www.ghost-armor.com/ and don't care for belt clips.

Anyway, I got the same SG series case for my iPhone 5s.

As said, I haven't dropped it yet (it fits better in a shirt pocket than the S3) but if I do I am not worried about it. These cases are a solid purchase.

P.S. You can also try Ebay... I got one for a few dollars less than buying straight from the website. $27.99 plus shipping vs $19.99 and free shipping on Ebay.

Good luck.

And just like I call BS on the Apple fanbois I have to call BS here. Samsung is doing great. Much of the from first time phone buyers. Apple is hardly bleeding all their customers to Samsung.

"It's almost inevitable: release a new iPhone, break a sales record. This year, Apple released a pair of iPhones, the 5S and 5C, and unsurprisingly sales have been strong. Apple sold a combined 9 million iPhone 5S and 5C smartphones over the handsets' first full weekend of sales — the most it's ever done. That's enough for Apple to have already sold out of its initial stock of the iPhone 5S, though the company does say that retail stores are regularly receiving more shipments of the phone"

Yep... everyone is dumping those iPhones....

At one point 8 or 9 years afo, we put a few hundred Samsung Impact Printers into the field, and they were crap. Poorly made, and had very thin stamped metal around the cartridge that would bend if you weren't careful when changing the cartridge. Within 18 months they were gone.

Flash forward a few years, and most of their stuff is really good. I used a Samsung 22" monitor for a number of years, before giving it to my son when I went to 27's. I would have definitely considered Samsung if it weren't for the fact that they don't have VESA mounts on that particular line of monitors.
