Went ahead and got one, and loving it. I re[placed an iPhone 4 with this 5c. I paid the $549 for it rather than doing a contract. I couldn't come up with the extra hundred for the 5s, but I'm happy with this one.

Yes it's a big upgrade from the 4

Yeah I paid full price $849 for my 64GB 5s in September... because I was only a year into my contract for my Galaxy S3.

Sold the S3 for $320 and next September when my contract is up for renewal I can get the iPhone 6 for the upgrade price and sell this 5s for at least that...

So at a minimum I'll get the next iPhone for free.

If I paid the $20.83 per month time 24 months plus $50 it would cost $550. I paid $549. So it didn't matter, but I want the monthly payment lower, and I have the cash now, so why not?

I'd have taken out a loan for the extra $100.

The fingerprint ID saves you so much time in not having to type an unlock code.

The last thing we need is more debt. Since I paid in full, I can sell it and switch any time I want to. I'm not going to borrow to get one.

I was referring to the $100 difference. Is the differences in the 5s and 5c worth that extra $100?

Absolutely it is... to me anyway. Would I not get the 5s to save $100? Absolutely not. Would I have waited another week, two weeks, month... whatever it took to get an extra $100 and get the 5s? Yep.

Enjoy the 5c

Cool. We differ on the value of what you get for the extra $100, but it really doesn't matter now. I'm happy with the 5c.
