One of our phones is an ATT smartphone with pay as you go and we do not buy data, we use wifi for when we need to pick up email or surf the web while out and about and that is free.
Mr. Lee thanks for your response. As it happens I just got back from picking up my craigslist Galaxy note 2 buy. We met at the ATT store and I got the 10c a call 20c a text 25c to send a picture 25.00 a month regardless plan.
The sales rep did say that if i was careful and planned ahead I could switch back and forth to the 25.00 month prepaid plan to get data for a month, then switch back to pay as you go. When you do that though I think you lose all your pay as you go money so if you don't use it and have built up money, like I did on virgin mobile, then it doesn't work so well. But at least its a possibility if I feel i need no kidding data while on vacation. See, I tend to go to rural places when traveling, on vacation, no wifi. having data to get directions, find a camping spot, a phone number is really nice then!
