I recently bought a new battery for my cell phone a Sanyo Juno 27.00 model but found out my company now has an iPhone and I want to get it, but then again I don't know part of me doesn't want to get it because I just got this new battery for my old phone and rather use it up until it dies out but then again......

How long did it take you to go from a basic phone to smart phone? I know some people buy a new phone right away while others never have had a smart phone ever.

It is all a matter of whether you are a quick learner and have the patience to play with the device while trying to learn about it. Some people I know got themselves an Iphone only to find out that they only use it for phone calls, so that is a waste. The question you have to ask yourself is, what items would you use a smart phone for.

I bought a smart phone for my wife a few years back and only this year bought one for myself and basically all I use mine for once in a blue moon is searches and picking up my emails when out and about. Some people cannot live without one but I feel they are unnecessary for the most part when they are not needed for work.

I'd want a iPhone due to it's better camera, video, apps and more. My phone does have email, some apps, camera, and internet but the iPhone would be a total update from it.

Then go for it. A new battery for another phone isn’t much of an incentive not to switch.

To me it is, I just got this battery last month so why after just 1 month of having it should I buy a brand new phone? Thats like buying a new battery today and then buying another new battery when it comes to a brand new phone tomorrow. Isn't that bad?

What is the real dilemma? Is it cost, principle or something else?

You said the company now has the iPhone. What does that mean? Is it any cost to you to get the iPhone or is it partially subsidized by your company?

Smart phones for many folks is a more a tool than a gadget. IMHO for newcomers it can something that you didnt realize you were missing until you have it.
Some senior citizen family members love technology but have a hard time with the touch screens etc vs a flip phone. While they see the benefits of smart phones, to them, it becomes a hassle just making a simple phone call without making the screen change involuntarily lol

How much was the battery?

Sell the old phone. Get what you want. "Problem" solved.

My guess is that he paid more for the battery than what the phone is worth. $35 brand new on ebay
