Right now, I have an HTC which is over 2 years old. It freezes, takes forever to charge, and numerous of other things. I was at the T-Mobile store today and they suggested the Samsung phones since I didn't want to go back to HTC. What phones do you all have and is there any issues~? Is there one phone better than another~? I really need some insight on what phone to get and don't want to jump into anything, but I am definitely ready for a new phone.

I would buy a Nexus 5 from Google, you can get a 16 GB for $349. Solid phone as far as specs go, and you know you will always be getting timely updates from Google. I've had mine for over a month now and love it. I have always had great experiences with Nexus devices. I prefer the pure Android experience over the skinned versions you see on HTC, Sony, Samsung, etc. Faster updates, smoother performance and no bloatware.

Seems like the T-Mobile store was pushing the Samsung devices since they are at $0 down. What about the LG phone~? I'm looking at the site now at T-Mobile and reading the reviews and both the LG2 and Google phone have good reviews.

The Nexus 5 is made by LG and shares some design cues from the G2. The reps will push whatever they're told to push if corporate is coming down on them.

I like my Nexus 5 for a lot of things, one of which is that I bought it unlocked and am free to take it to whatever carrier I want. The S4 is a solid phone, but I prefer the pure Google experience. Have you had a chance to play around with the G2, or S4? Might be helpful in making your choice.

I too had an HTC. After about 2 years, it started to turn itself off whenever it felt like it. The phone was always very "power hungry" and as a Realtor, I heavily depend on a working phone; dragging a charger with power cord got to be inconvenient to say the leastan. And not receiving calls when they came through was not good for business!

After shopping around, I decided on the Samsung Galaxy S4. So far, I like it a lot. Power pretty much lasts all day even though I spend a lot of time on the internet. I was eligible for an upgrade and at Best Buy, I ended up getting the phone for free, including no change in my plan, so I have a new, faster phone with more memory at no additional cost; no complaints! (Of course there is the learning curve .)

Sounds like your having the same issues as I am. I HATE to give this phone up. The size is just right, and thicker than what they are now. I don't like changes, but I have no choice. It takes over 8 hrs to charge, screen freezes or the internet goes out on me, and so much more. Seems like they are pushing the Galaxy phones at T-Mobile. The Google phone and LG2 seems larger like my HTC. Oh, and since you have had an HTC phone, how do I download the photos and such to my computer~? I'm trying now and can't figure out since there are 3 choices to pick from: HTC Sync, USB Tethering and Internet Pass-thru. What do I do~? Thanks.

I just got the Google Nexus 5 as well and LOVE it. I bought it because it is the most reasonably priced smart phone out there that doesn't lock you into a multi-year contract. That $0 down for the S4 probably has you making $24-28 a month payments for 2 years ($576-$672 total price for that phone). The google phone was $349, unlocked for AT&T, T-mobile, and Sprint.

Really liked my HTC as well and limped along as long as I could, but it became too much.

I emailed the photos to myself instead of trying to figure out the download
