Looking for a smartphone (prefer Android) with an external call alert. I want to be able to put my phone in my purse or pack and then have a corded or cordless alert (probably a small flashing light) clipped externally to let me know I have a call or text. I believe HTC had one of these on a phone marketed to women a few years ago but no longer makes it.

I prefer not to have an audible alert and I don't like leaving my phone out on the desk set on vibrate or flash.

Something like this, a bluetooth notifier, paired with whatever phone you want.

Amazon.com: Trellie (Platinum Silver)- Wireless Call Alert: Cell Phones & Accessories

I can't imagine such a thing being bundled with a phone.

Thanks for the link, I'll try it (although I would like it to notify for texts as well).

The phone that came with the feature was apparently the HTC Rhyme.

I had a watch that pairs up with my phone via Bluetooth that not only shows calls, but also texts called the Pebble. Works with virtually any current Android or iPhone. Nice device but retails for about $150 when I checked last. I remember seeing pens that flash for incoming calls but not sure about text messages.
