I just ditched my landline after realizing the only thing I used it for anymore.... was to find my cellphone when I misplaced it.

I probably kept my landline service for 10 years too long. I believe it was simply the conditioning of a lifetime habit, which is why I had kept it when I actually did not need nor used it.

My 2 adult children (ages 30 and 28) do not have landlines in their homes and have never considered it. They grew up in the age of cell phones.

Me too! So glad to be rid of those 'dinner-time' sales calls!

No one that I wanted to talk to called me on the landline.

Kind of makes you wonder why they didn't incorporate a "find me" feature, huh?

When you talk on a call placed from one landline to another, your voice is converted from analog to digital and back to analog. There is no such thing as truly analog telephony anymore.

Quality has nothing to do with digital vs. analog and everything to do with bandwidth, signal-to-noise ratio, and which algorithms are used in the conversion.

Is there a simple free way to send and receive faxes using a cell phone?
