I never use Google+ but it's there, taking over my Samsung GS4, and it has my former residential address programmed in as my current home, which affects my GPS directions to my home. How to update my address on Google+? I can't find that option.

Anyone know?

I think you might be talking about Google Now, not Google Plus.
Do you have a Widget in your homescreen?

Forgive me, I've never heard of Google Now. And I don't know what a Widget is.

Specifically in my Contacts which is where I go to access addresses for GPS-ing...My name and address by default are in there from whenever I input them to Google Plus a few years ago. It literally says "Google+" next to my name, email address, and residential address (which is outdated and I need to change it!).

Gotcha.
Easy way:
While looking at that screen, click the 3 little dots, upper right.
Edit. Change your address.

Or you can delete your G+ profile:
Open Google Plus.
3 little Dots in the upper right > settings.
Click your name under Account Settings:.

Then Account, Then Disable Google+.

I also have a Samsung GS4, and I think you are a bit confused between Contacts, Google+, and specific information stored by Google Navigator.

I'm not certain what is linked to what by Google for Contacts, G+ etc, but I do know that gNav's Home address is a specific entry that did not come from nor is it linked to Contacts, G+ or such.
(It's the same for the navigation program Waze, where Home and Work are specifically entered and are not linked/associated to Contacts).

To change your gNav Home and or Work information in Android (Samsung Galaxy 4), do the following:
  1. Start gNav
  2. Menu;
  3. Settings;
  4. "Edit home or work"
  5. "Edit home address"
  6. fill in your address, and hit "Done"
  7. then hit Back as often as needed to get to the main gNav screen.
To navigate to "Home", start gNav
In the search entry block, press the up-right arrow to open the Navigate-To screen
If you look down, one of the offerings should be "Home", (as well as previous destinations in your "history" section).
Press Home and off you go!

No he's not. If you go into your contacts on most Androids, the first contact is yours. That is what he is referring to. Mine looks the same way as he described.
