Hi

I am looking for ways that are affordable to boost the cell phone signal so that a security system can be setup.

Details: I have an M-cell for AT&T and my cell phone is connected to the m-cell. Works great. The security system uses cell signal to contact monitoring service but I have very poor signal without the m-cell. I was told the security system - GE Simon XTi with AT&T daughterboard could connect to the m-cell, but it won't.

SO my thought if it is possible. I have an old android cell that is AT&T connected to m-cell that I rarely use. Can I use that phone as a signal boost that the Simon XTi could connect to? Can a cell phone be used to amplify a signal so other phones nearby can connect better?

The security monitoring company suggested a couple booster devices, but the start at $250 and get very expensive.

thanks

I used to own an M-Cell and if I remember correctly, you have to login to the device and "authorize" her.

Thanks for reply. I know how to add a cell phone to the m-cell. Several sources have said you can't add the security device. WHat I am hoping is can I add a cell phone ( iphone or android ) and have that phone stay next to the security device so that the security device can use the phones signal.
