It's the "see a line and get in it" mentality. People won't wait an hour in line to vote, but they'll camp out overnight to get this bleeping junk that slides right out of the box onto the sidewalk.
No, I wouldn't. It would be nice to have a latest brand new shiny device. The one I am using has the same operating system and it very functional. I have no need for a new device, and my wants can wait.

Possibly... the ONLY reason why if it's like one of the those black Friday deals where people offer you money for your spot. I will gladly give this spot to you for $100.
well I would not say what those people are buying is junk.
The Phone maybe be great or mediocre depending on your opinion on the specs and usability.
However, I see people who go in line with a perfectly fine phone in their hand. you may want to question the wisdom of a person with an IPhone5 or Iphone5S trying to buy an IPhone6.
But even if that was the smart thing to do. Can't you live with that phone for one more week until there is no line required?
Again to me all this made sense when Mobile Stands use to buy these phones and sell them online to Chinese and Indian buyers online. But now that Phones are sold worldwide It just seem futile exercise.
a user pointed out that the atmosphere is an interesting experience.
But I like to ask if one would not experience a better sense comradery by attending volunteering event.
These lines just do no reflect well on our society. They are kind of a symbol of mindless consumerism.
I don't object in the least to Apple's camp followers doing what they do. It's a consumer product. I truly admire that Apple has figured out a way to socially engineer its consumers' buying habits such that they dutifully flock to the nearest mother ship when Apple releases a product touting "new features" that some of us have had at our fingertips for years. It's amazing, really. I'm not knocking Apple's products, either. It's just amazing to me that people line up for them, and I would never do it.

I was wondering this when I watched the news today. How can people with jobs stand in line at the phone store, or if they don't have a job how do they afford an $800 phone?
I don't stand in line for anything, and my old phone costs me $34. a month, so I think they are all pathetic.
