I have to completely disagree.

1) Lots of people enjoy tech and mobile as a personal hobby or interest. Is that any different than people spending money on any other hobby?

2) I almost always find something that makes my life easier in newer devices. These devices really do enhance my life.

3) The self worth of most people is completely independent of their mobile.

It's this type of consumerism that drives our economy. I, personally would never do this. My current 3 year old phone does absolutely everything I need, calls, texts, and listening to music.

Am I insane? It costs $3500 for an iPhone here since it's not publicly available now. Just too many rich crazy people.

In Argentina? I guess people are very rich there

I am from China. But it's quite another story now. Apple is losing out to its competitors here.
