I'm sure you mean "since you got a phone" and not over your life span. So my actual answer would be roughly 14 days-ish for a hiking trip.

I have a smart phone and in 6 months I have used it twice. Once to make sure I knew how to use it and once to my wife to let her know, I was running late.

I use mine so rarely the answer has to be in months, not days. Certainly a month to six weeks is not unusual.
