I have Android 2.3.5. My headphones icon sometimes looks like a headphones with two earpieces, but other times it also looks like it has a mouthpiece. What's going on? Have you noticed this too? I only connect one thing to it.

You can't be serious? lol. You've either trolling this thread or these self-deprecating posts are your own attempts at dark humor.
They don't even make Android 2x phones anymore. Good to know that they're still in the wild but I haven't seen one offered through retail for at least 2 years.

Most phones have earbuds (the two earpieces) and a small area that pops out (the mouthpiece), typically on the left bud. That is a microphone. This is to use it as a headset.
Who would it only cost $20 to get a new phone? Does it usually cost that much if you keep the same plan?
I know you laughed because my phone is so old but it works okay so I don't want to bother with getting a new one.
Robert you can get a really good refurbished through Text Now, GoPhone, or another MVNO for $20. Cricket has rebates where you can get a brand new Android or Windows Phone for free.
It's your choice. I'm just saying that for the time and trouble you can make things a lot easier. My first phone was a 2.3. I got a free ZTE Android 4x from Cricket and never looked back.
I can understand the sentiment, its just that those old 2.3 phones don't have a lot of RAM and don't run newer software as well. You're usually just stuck with Google's core apps. None of the Microsoft apps will run on 2.3 and the multitasking isn't as smooth. I just hate to see people locked into old hardware.
