What exactly is the point of this thread if you're unwilling to spend the < 10 seconds required to resolve your issue? The solution is easy and takes virtually no time.
That's just it, it doesn't resolve the issue. Once the phone sees the xfinity Wi-Fi network, you can't get off of that login page page and the damage is done.
I solved the problem, though. I just turn off Wi-Fi before I go into any bar or restaurant. I tried that and it worked fine.
How is the log-in page going to nag you if you are not connected to an xfinity network?
That's the problem. The phone was trying to connect automatically. Open Safari and the log-in page pops up and you can't escape. It's the weirdest thing. And I wouldn't much care except that once that happens, my phone goes nuts and the battery won't last even one day.
I removed some Comcast cookies from my phone and from my computer. Maybe that will help, although I'm getting sick of playing games. Doing a hard reset of your phone every day is a pain.

If you "forget this network", as was suggested earlier, it will not try to automatically connect.

OK, I'll try it. The first thing I do, I'll go to the "settings" app and go to "wi-fi." Then I'll see if I can ignore that network. I wonder it it will be the same network for everyplace that has Xfinity wi-fi, or whether I'd have to fool with this every time I go into a new bar or restaurant?
It would be better if Xfinity would simply stop assaulting people with their crap.

But you already claimed that wouldn't fix it when I told you do it earlier...

They're not "assaulting people with their crap." At some point you joined an xfinity wifi network. Now you automatically join them. If you don't want to join them automatically, then forget the network.
There are xfinity hot spots all over the city here. Not once have I ever been bugged by one, because I simply don't connect to them.
Never in my life did I ever join an Xfinity Wi-Fi network voluntarily.
Clearly, this is an anti-Xfinity rant. I want to point out that you have already admitted having Xfinity at home and that you use the Xfinity wi-fi which may also include accidentally turning on some sharing option. You can not claim you have never voluntarily joined when you use their service voluntarily at your home. Since you really are not looking for advice, as you have already declared something that people suggest as won;t work without ever trying the suggestion, so this appears to be nothing but a self serving anti-Xfinity rant.................

I'm not ranting against Xfinity. I'm really not. But it would be nice if I could use my phone without having to bend over backwards to avoid whatever it is they're doing to my phone and it's battery life. I really don't want to have to buy another phone, as the one I have is only about six months old. But, if that's what I have to do to have a phone that has a battery that lasts all day, I guess that's what I'll have to do.
First, though, I'm going to look for an app that tells me precisely how my phone's battery is being used. Right now, I'm recharging my phone. After that, I'm doing hard reset No. 4.

If you have the latest iOS it shows what is using the battery in the settings.
