There's no hope because Microsoft is too big to understand how to make an ecosystem around a phone that can spurn adoption.

Without go into full details, MS still has the mindset that they must make money or return value to their investors right away. They don't have the mindset that it will take sacrifices to compete from behind. They need to open up their design so they're not trying to outdo Apple and while not being too open they can risk falling into the Android's open design challenge.

Yea, that's not the problem, Visioneer. It's simply too late. You need to have something REALLY compelling at this point to have a chance of breaking Google\Apple dominance.
