I'm trying to figure out how to change the settings on my Samsung Galaxy S5 note so that when I'm listening to music I am not interrupted by an incoming call. I've researched through Google and other forums along with scouring my phone and simply cannot figure out if it's possible.

I have a SG4 and feel it's probably close enough to say...
This is not going to be adjustable in the phones settings, it will need to be in the settings of the music playing app.
The app will have to tell when the phone is in use, so it can know to pause the music, and then resume when the phone call is done.

I have an app in my phone that acts as a remote-controls for the program "VLC Media Player" I have installed in my PC. When I play a movie using VLC, and a call comes in, it pauses the movie.
You need a music playing app with the same functionality.

Putting the phone in airplane mode before listening to music will ensure you are not interrupted by calls or texts. Of course you will have to remember to enable airplane mode first, and remember to disable airplane mode when you are finished listening to your music.

First things first. Are you listening to music on your phone or through a streaming app? Assuming on your phone, then Ed is right. Find a different music app. I use Rocket Player and I think it allows this. I know it has a KEEP PLAYING EVEN IF THE PHONE RINGS option.

+1 for Rocket Player. That's the one I use, and I just checked and it lets you choose to pause / not-pause during phone, and resume / not-resume after a call. It's a powerful little player.

I have new respect for you, Ed. Frigging love Rocket Player and I've tried a lot. Actually got the paid version too. Have you played around with "Live Playlists" yet?

My favorite and the best I could find was PowerAmp. I also payed for the full version. I mostly stream these days from my own collection and for that I use Muzecast.

PowerAMP is great, too. 1 and 2 are RocketPlayer and PowerAMP.
